Bump Stocks Are Now Legal

Supreme Court Overturns Bump Stock Ban

Biden Administration Suffers Defeat on Gun Control Measure

Reuters: Biden Faults Court for Ending Key Gun Safety Regulation

WASHINGTON, June 14 (Reuters) - The U.S. Supreme Court on Friday struck down a ban on bump stocks, gun accessories that allow semi-automatic rifles to fire at speeds of up to 400 rounds per minute. The decision is a setback for gun-control advocates, who have argued that bump stocks make firearms more dangerous.

The Biden administration had argued that the ban was necessary to protect public safety. But the Supreme Court ruled that the ban was unconstitutional, because it violated the Second Amendment right to bear arms.

In a statement, President Biden said he was "deeply disappointed" by the ruling. "Bump stocks have no legitimate sporting use, and they make our communities less safe," he said.
